How do I pull a 7, 8 or 9-speed cog Mega (cassette) on the wheel of a bicycle, does not require any special tools?
There is a special tool for removing / tightening the retaining ring that holds the cartridge in position and be aware that the tool you need depending on the manufacturer of the drive train varies. Campagnolo Cartridges require a slightly different tool from Shimano, as I understand it, but the only cartridge that I've ever replaced was a Shimano. Just make sure that your hub and Freewheel are compatible with the cassette and, as one of the other poster suggested, check the gears carefully and adjust as necessary.
